Ranbir Kapoor, the handsome hunk of Bollywood who faced a huge monetary loss as the producer of Jagga Jasoos directed by Anurag Basu, has opposed his father Rishi Kapoor for slamming the director for his delaying tactics or making it happen in three years. Here is what Ranbir Kapoor said during the launch of Sanjay Dutt starrer Bhoomi trailer.
“My father is a very emotional man. I think whatever he said was to protect me, from where he was coming. I don’t necessarily agree with what he did or what he said. Like I said, Jagga Jasoos is something that we’ve worked on for three and a half years.”
“We all were aware of what we were doing and what was being made. Sometimes you succeed sometimes you fail. I don’t look at it (Jagga Jasoos) as a failure, I look at it as a learning. I think it has given me a lot, the experience of working with Anurag Basu and everyone on the film.”
“So yes, I can’t answer for someone else, but I don’t necessarily agree with it.”
Rishi had earlier slammed Anurag Basu for wasting money and being irresponsible as a filmmaker. The veteran actor was even unhappy due to exclusion of Govinda from the movie. Here is what he had said:
“Neetu and I saw the film on Thursday, only a day ahead of the release. Till Wednesday, Anurag Basu was still mixing the film. Can you imagine that? Pritam probably delivered the music only a week before. What can you say? You (here, Basu) don’t take an opinion from anybody. Today’s filmmakers are doing this with everybody. They don’t show their films before release to take opinions, and treat it as though they’re making a nuclear bomb. I didn’t hate or love the film. I only felt it needed to be abridged by 20 minutes. But who is going to give that opinion to them?”
